How CoinDraft Works

Fantasy crypto league — draft a lineup of tokens, compete on real price moves, win SOL.

Overview

CoinDraft is a fantasy sports-style game built on crypto price action. You join a league, draft a lineup of 7 tokens under a salary cap, and compete against other players based on how your picks perform over the contest window.

Contests are peer-to-peer — your entry fee goes directly into the prize pool. The winner takes the pool. CoinDraft takes a 10% platform fee at the time you join; the remaining 90% is your contribution to the prize pool.

All payments are in SOL on the Solana blockchain. Payouts are sent automatically to the winner's wallet when the contest ends.

Game Phases

Phase 1 · Lobby

Players join and pay their entry fee. The lobby stays open until the timer expires — even if the lobby fills up, the game waits for the full timer.

Phase 2 · Drafting

A 5-minute drafting window opens for all joined players to build their lineup. You can also draft during the lobby phase — picks are accepted any time before draft closes.

Phase 3 · Scoring

Token prices are snapshotted at draft close. The contest runs for the chosen duration (5 min to 1 week). Final prices are recorded and points are calculated.

If fewer than 2 players join before the lobby closes, the league is cancelled and all entry fees are refunded in full.

Drafting Rules

Each player selects exactly 7 tokens from a pool of the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap, ranked and priced by tier.

You have a salary cap of 50 points. Each token costs a salary based on its tier rank — you cannot exceed the cap.

Picks can be changed any time before the draft window closes. Once the draft window closes, lineups are locked and cannot be edited.

Token Tiers
TierMarket Cap RankSalary Cost
Star1 – 58 – 10 pts
Starter6 – 205 – 7 pts
Bench21 – 353 – 4 pts
Rookie36 – 501 – 2 pts
Example: a valid lineup could be 1 Star (10) + 2 Starters (6+6) + 2 Bench (4+4) + 2 Rookies (2+2) = 34 pts — well within the 50-pt cap. You have flexibility in how you build your roster as long as the total salary doesn't exceed 50.

Scoring

Each pick is scored on its percentage price change from the draft-close snapshot to the contest-end snapshot, measured in USD.

Points per pick = % change (e.g. +5.2% move = +5.2 points). Points are capped at ±300 per pick to limit extreme outlier impact.

Your total score is the sum of all 7 pick points. The player with the highest total wins.

Prizes & Fees

CoinDraft takes a 10% platform fee at the time you join. Your 90% contribution is added to the prize pool immediately.

The winner takes the entire prize pool. Payouts are sent on-chain to the winner's Solana wallet automatically after the contest ends.

If two or more players finish with the exact same score, the prize pool is split equally among all tied players.

Prize Pool Example
4 players × 0.1 SOL entry0.4 SOL collected
Platform fee (10%)− 0.04 SOL
Prize pool0.36 SOL
Winner receives0.36 SOL

Forfeits & Ties

If you do not submit a lineup before the draft window closes, you are forfeited. A forfeit counts as a loss — your entry fee is not returned.

If all players in a league forfeit (nobody submits a lineup), it is treated as a tie. The prize pool is split equally among all players in the league. Entry fees are not refunded — the split is paid from the prize pool (i.e. 90% of each entry fee comes back, the 10% platform fee is still kept).

If some players forfeit and some do not, only the players who submitted lineups are eligible to win. Forfeited players receive nothing.

In the event of a tie among active players, the prize pool is split equally. There is no tiebreaker — equal scores share the prize.

All-forfeit split example: 2 players, 0.01 SOL entry each → 0.018 SOL prize pool → each player receives 0.009 SOL back. The 0.002 SOL platform fee is non-refundable.

Refunds

Your entry fee is fully refunded if the lobby closes with fewer than 2 players. Refunds are sent on-chain to your wallet automatically.

Entry fees are not refunded once a contest starts (2 or more players joined and the lobby timer expired). This includes forfeited entries.

There are no partial refunds. Once the game is live, all funds are committed to the prize pool.
